Get a your AirCon Compressor and keep your ride cool!

The most crucial part of your car's air conditioning system is the AC Compressor, which is basically a pump that compresses the refrigerant and delivers it to other AC components. This refrigerant is what keeps your car's cabin nice and chilly, as it circulates through the system and changes from liquid to gas and back again.

Here's how it works: the refrigerant gas flows from the evaporator to the AC Compressor, which then puts it under high pressure and raises its temperature to as high as 160 degrees Fahrenheit. After being compressed, it's transferred to the condenser where the air flowing through it cools it back down and turns it into a liquid again. From there, the refrigerant goes to a set of orifices that spray it onto the evaporator, making it cold. A fan blows the air from your interior through the evaporator, and the refrigerant absorbs the heat from the air, turning back into a gas in the process.

The AC Compressor is located in front of the engine and is secured by an accessory bracket. When you turn on your air conditioning unit, a clutch engages with the pulley to activate the compressor, and when you turn it off, the AC compressor part disengages with the pulley. It's important to check your compressor regularly and get a replacement if it starts to break down or isn't functioning well.
