Fuel Pressure Gauge

For the engine to perform at its best, it’s not enough that it has a sufficient supply of fuel. Fuel pressure has to be kept at a constant rate, and any change in fuel flow has to be compensated for by regulating the fuel pressure.

The fuel pressure regulator usually does a good job of maintaining pressure levels in the fuel delivery system. However, the regulator can wear down over time, which may cause drivability problems. This is where a fuel pressure gauge becomes necessary.

  • Plugs into valves along the fuel delivery system
  • Accurately shows the pressure in the fuel line
  • Helps diagnose fuel leaks

The gauge lets you check pressure in various points of the fuel delivery system. Pressure should remain constant as long as the ignition key is at the “on” position. If, at any point, the needle in the fuel pressure gauge moves into the low range, something in the fuel delivery system may have sprung a leak.

When the mechanic says that the gauge itself is defective, though, your only option is replacement. Check to find the perfect pressure gauge for your car’s fuel delivery system.
